  • Valid passport or birth certificate + proof of National Insurance number 

🟢Enhanced DBS Check 

  • We cover the full cost if you're not on the Update Service 

  • Update Service: Reimburse the £16/year fee (recommended for ongoing work) 

🟢Professional Registration 

  • Current registration with your regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, or Social Care Wales) 

  • You maintain your registration; fees vary by profession 

🟢Two Clinical References 

  • From recent healthcare employers/supervisors 

Your Onboarding Journey 

  1. Digital Welcome Meeting 

  • Conducted via Teams to discuss your specialty preferences and assignment goals 

  1. Free Mandatory Training

Payroll Process

At MPS Healthcare, we offer two streamlined, compliant payroll options to suit your preferences, both operating under PAYE (Pay As You Earn) to ensure full tax and National Insurance compliance: 

1. MPS Healthcare Direct PAYE: 
Utilise our dedicated in-house payroll team for straightforward processing. All deductions and reporting are managed internally by MPS. 

2. Partnered Umbrella PAYE: 
Opt to be paid through one of our approved, reputable Umbrella Companies. They handle your payroll, often offering consolidated invoicing if you work with multiple agencies. 

Your Choice, Your Control: 
During onboarding, you’ll select your preferred payroll method. We’ll guide you through the necessary documentation: 

  • Confirmation of Bank Details Form 

  • New Starter Checklist 

  • PAYE Terms of Engagement (TOE) 

  • (Umbrella-specific forms if applicable) 

Your Pay Schedule: 

  • Work completed within a standard working week (Monday to Sunday) is processed for payment on the Friday of the following week, regardless of your chosen payroll method. 

  • Access our online portal to view your payslip the day before funds reach your bank account. 

Accuracy is Paramount: 
While we strive for perfection, please review every payslip carefully via the portal. Report any discrepancies to your Placement Coordinator immediately – we prioritise swift resolution. 

Critical: Timesheets & Shift Changes 

  • Timesheets are automatically generated based on your confirmed bookings. 

  • Notify us IMMEDIATELY of ANY shift changes (cancellations, early/late, different location/department). 

Why? Pay and client charge are directly linked. Errors cause over/under-payments for you and billing issues for the healthcare facility, requiring significant time to correct. 

Your Weekly Bonus Chance! 
Every shift worked = one entry into our weekly £250 bonus draw! A winner is picked at random each week. The bonus is added to your pay (subject to PAYE deductions) – our thanks for your vital work.
