“People sometimes ask me what makes MPS different from every other health care agency out there. The honest answer is that MPS was never meant to be "just an agency"”
MPS Healthcare was established in 2000, before most of today's agencies even existed. We started with a straightforward promise: to supply nurses who are properly qualified, properly vetted, and genuinely want to be there. Twenty-six years later, that promise still drives every decision we make. It is a point of great pride to note that some of the first nurses we recruited still actually work for us!

“I started my career as a Registered General Nurse back in the early 1990s. I know what it feels like to walk onto a short-staffed ward, to watch colleagues burn out, and to worry that patient care is slipping through the cracks because there simply aren't enough hands. It saddens me that we are still having the same conversations. When I moved into recruitment, that experience stayed with me. It shaped everything. ”
Over 26 years, what began as a nursing agency in the South Wales Valleys, grew into something much larger. MPS became the leading supplier on the NHS All Wales Agency Framework, responsible for placing over 50% of nursing professionals across Wales. We built specialist teams; candidate care, clinical services, compliance and operations because we knew that quality staffing isn't about filling shifts; it's about getting the right person into the right place at the right time.
As demand grew, so did our ambitions. We launched MPS Complex Care to support NHS Continuing Health Care caseloads helping children and adults live at home with their families, supported by sustainable community-based care packages. We created SET Education to bring the same standards of care and compliance to schools across Wales. NRW People was formed to service the general recruitment market in Wales, and NRW Case Management is our newest exciting division. All these brands were brought together under the Network Recruitment Wales umbrella, a group purpose-built to serve the workforce needs of Welsh public services and private sector.

“We built MPS on one belief - if you look after the people who look after patients, everything else follows.”
At our core, we are a values-led business. "Caring", "Professional" and "Reliable" are not just words on a wall, they are the reason our candidates recommend us to their colleagues, and the reason Welsh NHS Health Boards have trusted us for over a quarter of a century. Every candidate goes through a rigorous compliance process. Every placement is backed by a 24/7 support team. Every client gets a named account manager who understands their service, not just their rota.

“I chair the Recruitment and Employment Confederation advisory council because I believe our industry needs to continuously raise its standards, not just its margins. The agencies that will thrive are the ones that act as genuine partners, bringing insight, compliance and consistency, not just bodies through the door. ”
Healthcare is changing. Budgets are tighter, workforce shortages are deeper, and the old "fill-the-shift" model isn't enough anymore. We have invested in technology and artificial intelligence to work smarter; digital onboarding that clears candidates in days, not weeks; data tools that help Health Boards plan ahead, rather than react. We now offer workforce consultancy, subscription recruitment models, and strategic partnerships that reduce reliance on ad-hoc agency spend.

“After 26 years, I am still driven by the same thing: making sure the right people are in the right place to deliver safe, compassionate care. That's the MPS story - and we're only getting started.”
MPS Healthcare pride ourselves on our open-door policy and excellent pastoral care. We encourage our staff to discuss and reflect on their working practice in order to improve both the quality of care received by patients and the level of job satisfaction experienced by the candidate.
MPS Healthcare are committed to giving a value for money service, providing professional, passionate staff who demonstrate a high quality of care
MPS Healthcare work with all parties to match appropriate skills to service need. We encourage reliable and loyal staff and will work with candidates to ensure clients can rely on them.
